The RNZCGP is the professional body which provides training and ongoing professional development for general practitioners and rural hospital generalists, and sets standards for general practice.
The College delivers:
They have created a Training Unit to separate the standard-setting function of the College from the training function and avoid any potential conflicts of interest.
This and other changes they have made in 2011/12 are aimed at making the College more agile and responsive to a changing primary care environment.
These all contribute to the College's overall goal to improve the health of New Zealanders through high quality general practice care.
